Spiral wound and kammprofile (Grooved) gaskets

Uni Klinger Spiral Wound Gasket

Uni Klinger is offering full range of spiral wound gasket as per international standards such as API601, ASME 16.20, ASME B16.47 A& B series, DIN, British standards, JIS etc.

The basic sealing component of spiral wound gasket is wound element. The unique profiled metal strip is spirally wound to integrate with specific sealing element.

UKL spiral wound gaskets are available as sealing element and also with inner and /or outer ring.

Standard filler material used is  Graphite, PTFE &  Mica.

Standard metal winding elements used are SS304 / SS316L.

Standard outer & Inner ring material used are CS , SS304/ SS316L.Outer Ring is also known as Guide Ring or Centering Ring as it is used for location the gaskets.

Criteria for Selection

  • Nature of fluid i.e. corrosive nature, fluid concentration etc.,
  • Operating temperature and pressure.

Advantages

  • Suitable for High Pressure & High Temperature.
  • Due to its excellent compression resilience, it is suitable for sealing spots where the alteration of temperature and pressure are frequent.
  • Support rings, inside and Outside the spiral, improves the gasket’s handling, fitting and Versatility.
  • Gasket is made in a wide variety of sizes as per ASME16.20 and also as per customer requirement.
  • These are quick to install and remove.

Applications

  • These gaskets are suitable for high pipeline pressure on flat or raised flange faces.
  • Temperatures from cryogenic up to 1000 °Cdepending on type of filler used.
  • High Temperature service
  • Flammable Fluids.
  • Corrosive fluids.

Uni Klinger manufactures spiral wound gaskets from 15mm to 3500mm ID as per ASME standards and as per international standards of colour coding.

Uni  Klinger spiral wound gaskets are subjected to compressibility & recovery test as per IS 7719 & sealability test are conducted at ambient/elevated pressure & temperature.

Uni  Klinger Spiral wound gaskets are approved with all major consultants including EIL & TDC.

Uni Klinger Kammprofile Gasket

Kammprofile gaskets are recognized as a problem solver for heat exchangers, large vessels, and equipment that experience excessive movement due to thermal expansion. Kammprofile gaskets consist of a sealing core metal with or without guide ring. The sealing core is a solid metal gasket with concentric serrations on both sealing surfaces and faced with soft material such as flexible graphite, EPTFE configuration depending on operating conditions. It is the preferred design when needing improved performance at low seating stresses.

This gasket is specially designed and suitable for light and heavy designed flanges.

The gasket comes with different profile like type A , type B, type C , type D & type E

UKL manufactures gasket size ranging from 15 mm to 600 mm as ANSI / ASME 16.5 #150 to #2500.

10 mm DN to 1400mm DN to suit  DIN 2697 PN10 to PN400

Non standard  as per customer requirement.

Advantage of Kammprofile gasket

  • Seals pressure up to 250 bar
  • Suitable  for  temperature upto 1000 degree C dependent on core and layer material used.
  • Maintain effective sealing performance in varying temperature and pressure condition.
  • Kammprofile gaskets are reusable gaskets and suitable for narrow flange application.
  • Easy to remove without damaging flanges.
  • The Kammprofile gaskets are suitable for highly-corrosive fluid joints.
  • These gaskets come with an impressive load bearing capability.
